MycoSculpture Workshop Part II

It’s inoculation day! In today’s MycoScuplture workshop, we spent the afternoon learning how to inoculate our sculptures from last week with liquid mycelium. The liquid mycelium has been growing for a couple of weeks in preparation for today.

We’ll leave the sculptures to grow for at least 2 weeks—possibly quite a bit longer, depending on the material used and how thoroughly they were saturated with the liquid mycelium. Most of the sculptures included at least some amount of cardboard, burlap, wool, or coconut fibre, but we’re also doing tests with some more unusual materials.

We’ll post results in a few weeks once the we’re happy with their growth.
