In this 2-part workshop, we will explore the use of live microbes as bio-regenerative paint and combine traditional and DIY laboratory techniques with painting and printmaking techniques. Participants to this workshop will be able to grow living designs and drawings using harmless bacteria, including bacteria with natural- pigments as well as genetically-engineered bacteria with a selection of fluorescent colors. This workshop will provide an overview of BioArt, Microbiome and Synthetic Biology background, while practicing wet lab work experiments.
