Thursday evening, Cristo Riffo will be talking about his ongoing research project The Self Writing Manifesto at La Société des arts technologiques (SAT) as part of the Composite MTL series. The Self writing manifesto is an art project that crosses the borders between art, science, and technology, studying the growth processes of microorganisms with the use of a hacked microscope that allows the viewer to see long stretches of time and movement with the use of digital imaging time lapses. The presentations will be short and sweet: Cristo will only have 6 minutes to introduce us to his work and bring us into his microscopic world. Don’t miss it!
Composite is a quarterly networking event dedicated to digital creativity. It was born from an initiative of the Conseil des arts de Montréal, and is coordinated by MAPP_MTL in collaboration with important actors of the Montreal digital scene. This event aims to create a recurrent meeting space between the art and industry of the digital sector, by encouraging the meeting and pollination between creators, artist-run centers, organizations, companies and digital professionals.
