Two sessions:
First session: Thursday, March 22 from 10am-1pm and 2-5pm (lunch break 1-2pm)
Follow up session: Thursday, April 26 from 1-3pm
Learn the lab-craft of micro-propagation of plant tissue cells into cultured root structures as well as micro-shoots. In other words, grow your own tiny plant parts from just a few plant cells!
In this day-long workshop, with a two-hour follow up session, you will learn about how to play with light to influence the morphogenesis of plants (the way they take shape), as well as the role of plant hormones and how to create your own lab-grown vegetables!
The workshop and follow up session are three weeks apart to allow time for the growth of the plant progeny. Workshop participants will be invited to check back at the lab throughout the growth period to monitor their experiments!
